If you live in the Washington, DC metro area, including southern Maryland or northern Virginia and are looking to take lessons on how to spin poi, I teach a weekly class at Contradiction Dance in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Contradiction Dance is located at 925 Wayne Ave in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Classes are $18 per session for drop-ins and $15 per class if registering for the entire session.

Class Description:
Poi is a beautiful and complex artform integrating dance, martial arts, and juggling into a cutting-edge movement technique that promotes upper-body strength, develops coordination, and heightens mental acuity. Dancers move weights leashed to each hand to create breathtaking geometric figures that seem to defy the laws of gravity and momentum while creating gorgeous and intricate movements that wow and enrich audiences.
Poi with Drex will teach you the basic elements of these movements and how to bring them together into new and exciting ideas that will impress family and friends while helping you develop the link between mind and body. Come find out about the world of possibilities that is locked within this dazzling art.
